The roots of The Grand Tarabya date back to the early 1900s. Initially designed as the summer branch of the famous Tokatlıyan Hotel in Beyoğlu, it featured the elegant architecture of the era.
After a fire in 1954, the building was rebuilt and opened in 1966 as the “Büyük Tarabya Hotel,” Istanbul’s third 5-star hotel. For decades, it hosted numerous Yeşilçam (Turkish cinema) films; iconic scenes featuring actors such as Filiz Akın, Cüneyt Arkın, and Kadir İnanır were filmed here.
